Since muslims believe that the prophets of Allah(swt) are pure and innocent, for Allah(swt) would only select the right among mankind have been tested within their lives to guide those who choose to go astray and produce them for the right path.
Say (O Muslims), "We have confidence in Allah which which was sent right down to us knowning that which was sent right down to Ibrahim (Abraham), Isma'il (Ishmael), Ishaq (Isaac), Ya'qub (Jacob), and to Al-Asbat [the offspring in the twelve sons of Ya'qub (Jacob)], knowning that which has been directed at Musa (Moses) and '??sa (Jesus), understanding that that has been given on the prophets from other Lord. We make no distinction between any of them, and to Him we've got submitted (in Islam)."
Today since last Prophet Muhammad is there will be no more prophets (prophet Isa (Jesus)(AS) is no new book but to uphold the Quran ) so just the Quran and Hadiths may give you true guidance.
