The Hadiths assert and /or actions of the prophet Muhammad (pbuh) that have been witness through the companions with the prophet Muhammad(pbuh) and after that written down for record. Since muslims believe the prophets of Allah(swt) are pure and innocent, for Allah(swt) would only pick the best among mankind who were tested within their lives to lead people who went astray and produce them for the right path.
Say (O Muslims), "We trust Allah and that that is sent down to us which that has been sent into Ibrahim (Abraham), Isma'il (Ishmael), Ishaq (Isaac), Ya'qub (Jacob), and Al-Asbat [the offspring with the twelve sons of Ya'qub (Jacob)], and that that is presented to Musa (Moses) and '??sa (Jesus), and that that has been given on the prophets from their Lord. We make no distinction between any of them, and Him we have submitted (in Islam)."
Today since last Prophet Muhammad has already been there won't be any more prophets (prophet Isa (Jesus)(AS) will come back no new book but to uphold the Quran ) so only the Quran and Hadiths can give you true guidance.
