Since muslims think that the prophets of Allah(swt) are pure and innocent, for Allah(swt) would only pick the right among mankind who were tested of their lives to guide individuals who went astray and bring them for the right path.
Say (O Muslims), "We have confidence in Allah knowning that that has been sent down to us understanding that that has been sent into Ibrahim (Abraham), Isma'il (Ishmael), Ishaq (Isaac), Ya'qub (Jacob), and to Al-Asbat [the offspring from the twelve sons of Ya'qub (Jacob)], and that that is presented to Musa (Moses) and '??sa (Jesus), knowning that that has been given to the prophets from their Lord. We make no distinction between any of them, and also to Him we've submitted (in Islam)."
Today since the last Prophet Muhammad is there won't be any more prophets (prophet Isa (Jesus)(AS) will come back no new book but to uphold the Quran ) so only the Quran and Hadiths can provide you true guidance.
