Since muslims feel that the prophets of Allah(swt) are pure and innocent, for Allah(swt) would only pick the right among mankind who were tested inside their lives to lead those who choose to go astray and provide them on the right path.

Say (O Muslims), "We rely on Allah which that is sent down to us which that has been sent as a result of Ibrahim (Abraham), Isma'il (Ishmael), Ishaq (Isaac), Ya'qub (Jacob), and to Al-Asbat [the offspring with the twelve sons of Ya'qub (Jacob)], knowning that that is presented to Musa (Moses) and '??sa (Jesus), and that which was given towards the prophets from other Lord. We make no distinction between any of them, and to Him we now have submitted (in Islam)."

Today since last Prophet Muhammad was already gone will be the more prophets (prophet Isa (Jesus)(AS) is no new book but to uphold the Quran ) so merely the Quran and Hadiths may give you true guidance.
