Since muslims think that the prophets of Allah(swt) are pure and innocent, for Allah(swt) would only pick the right among mankind who have been tested inside their lives to steer people who had gone astray and provide them to the right path.
Say (O Muslims), "We believe in Allah knowning that which has been sent into us understanding that that has been sent down to Ibrahim (Abraham), Isma'il (Ishmael), Ishaq (Isaac), Ya'qub (Jacob), and Al-Asbat [the offspring with the twelve sons of Ya'qub (Jacob)], understanding that which has been directed at Musa (Moses) and '??sa (Jesus), understanding that that has been given towards the prophets off their Lord. We make no distinction between any of them, and Him we've submitted (in Islam)."
Today since the last Prophet Muhammad has already been there won't be any more prophets (prophet Isa (Jesus)(AS) will come back no new book but to uphold the Quran ) so exactly the Quran and Hadiths will give you true guidance.
