The Hadiths say and /or actions in the prophet Muhammad (pbuh) which were witness with the companions in the prophet Muhammad(pbuh) after which written down for record. Since muslims feel that the prophets of Allah(swt) are pure and innocent, for Allah(swt) would only choose the best among mankind who have been tested inside their lives to steer people who had gone astray and bring them to the right path.
Say (O Muslims), "We have confidence in Allah which that has been sent into us understanding that that has been sent right down to Ibrahim (Abraham), Isma'il (Ishmael), Ishaq (Isaac), Ya'qub (Jacob), and also to Al-Asbat [the offspring with the twelve sons of Ya'qub (Jacob)], which which was directed at Musa (Moses) and '??sa (Jesus), and that which was given towards the prophets from other Lord. We make no distinction between any of them, also to Him we have submitted (in Islam)."
Today since last Prophet Muhammad was already there will be no more prophets (prophet Isa (Jesus)(AS) will come back no new book but to uphold the Quran ) so just the Quran and Hadiths may give you true guidance.
