The Hadiths assert and /or actions with the prophet Muhammad (pbuh) which were witness with the companions of the prophet Muhammad(pbuh) then written down for record. Since muslims believe that the prophets of Allah(swt) are pure and innocent, for Allah(swt) would only pick the right among mankind who have been tested in their lives to steer those who went astray and produce them for the right path.
Say (O Muslims), "We trust Allah and that which has been sent as a result of us which that is sent right down to Ibrahim (Abraham), Isma'il (Ishmael), Ishaq (Isaac), Ya'qub (Jacob), and Al-Asbat [the offspring of the twelve sons of Ya'qub (Jacob)], knowning that that is presented to Musa (Moses) and '??sa (Jesus), knowning that that has been given on the prophets using their Lord. We make no distinction between any of them, also to Him we've submitted (in Islam)."
Today since last Prophet Muhammad has already been there will be no more prophets (prophet Isa (Jesus)(AS) will come back no new book but to uphold the Quran ) so only the Quran and Hadiths may give you true guidance.
