The Hadiths are saying and /or actions in the prophet Muhammad (pbuh) which are witness with the companions from the prophet Muhammad(pbuh) and after that written down for record. Since muslims believe that the prophets of Allah(swt) are pure and innocent, for Allah(swt) would only pick the best among mankind who were tested within their lives to steer people that had gone astray and provide them to the right path.
Say (O Muslims), "We believe in Allah knowning that that has been sent into us understanding that that has been sent right down to Ibrahim (Abraham), Isma'il (Ishmael), Ishaq (Isaac), Ya'qub (Jacob), and also to Al-Asbat [the offspring in the twelve sons of Ya'qub (Jacob)], knowning that that is presented to Musa (Moses) and '??sa (Jesus), and that that has been given to the prophets using their Lord. We make no distinction between any of them, and to Him we've submitted (in Islam)."
Today since the last Prophet Muhammad was already there will be no more prophets (prophet Isa (Jesus)(AS) will return no new book but to uphold the Quran ) so just the Quran and Hadiths can give you true guidance.
