The Quran could be the word of Allah(swt) as given directly or by angel Jibril (gabril)(AS) on the last and final seal in the prophets Muhammad (pbuh). As the verses were revealed the prophet Muhammad(pbuh) would recite these to his companions who memorise them plus write them down and distribute them on the list of muslim community. So the Quran could be the recorded word of Allah(swt) directly from the messenger of Allah(swt) the prophet Muhammad(pbuh) and there is only one version from the Quran with not one particular word altered considering that the revelation towards the present day. The Hadiths assert and /or actions of the prophet Muhammad (pbuh) that had been witness by the companions of the prophet Muhammad(pbuh) then written down for record. Since muslims believe that the prophets of Allah(swt) are pure and innocent, for Allah(swt) would only choose the best among mankind who have been tested of their lives to steer those who choose to go astray and convey them towards the right path.
Say (O Muslims), "We rely on Allah which that has been sent down to us which which has been sent into Ibrahim (Abraham), Isma'il (Ishmael), Ishaq (Isaac), Ya'qub (Jacob), and Al-Asbat [the offspring from the twelve sons of Ya'qub (Jacob)], understanding that which has been directed at Musa (Moses) and '??sa (Jesus), understanding that which has been given on the prophets from their Lord. We make no distinction between any of them, and also to Him we have submitted (in Islam)."
Today since last Prophet Muhammad is there won't be any more prophets (prophet Isa (Jesus)(AS) will return no new book but to uphold the Quran ) so merely the Quran and Hadiths will give you true guidance.
