Since muslims think that the prophets of Allah(swt) are pure and innocent, for Allah(swt) would only pick the right among mankind who have been tested within their lives to steer people who went astray and produce them on the right path.

Say (O Muslims), "We believe in Allah understanding that which has been sent right down to us which which has been sent as a result of Ibrahim (Abraham), Isma'il (Ishmael), Ishaq (Isaac), Ya'qub (Jacob), also to Al-Asbat [the offspring with the twelve sons of Ya'qub (Jacob)], and that that is directed at Musa (Moses) and '??sa (Jesus), and that that has been given to the prophets from their Lord. We make no distinction between any of them, and also to Him we've got submitted (in Islam)."

Today since the last Prophet Muhammad had been gone will be the more prophets (prophet Isa (Jesus)(AS) will come back no new book but to uphold the Quran ) so only the Quran and Hadiths will give you true guidance.
