Since muslims believe that the prophets of Allah(swt) are pure and innocent, for Allah(swt) would only pick the best among mankind who have been tested within their lives to guide individuals who went astray and convey them for the right path.

Today because the last Prophet Muhammad is there won't be any more prophets (prophet Isa (Jesus)(AS) will return no new book but to uphold the Quran ) so just the Quran and Hadiths may give you true guidance.
