Since muslims think that the prophets of Allah(swt) are pure and innocent, for Allah(swt) would only select the right among mankind have been tested of their lives to steer people who went astray and bring them towards the right path.
Say (O Muslims), "We trust Allah knowning that that is sent as a result of us which that has been sent into Ibrahim (Abraham), Isma'il (Ishmael), Ishaq (Isaac), Ya'qub (Jacob), and to Al-Asbat [the offspring from the twelve sons of Ya'qub (Jacob)], knowning that that has been provided to Musa (Moses) and '??sa (Jesus), and that that is given towards the prophets from their Lord. We make no distinction between any of them, and also to Him we've submitted (in Islam)."
Today since last Prophet Muhammad has already been there will be no more prophets (prophet Isa (Jesus)(AS) will be restored no new book but to uphold the Quran ) so just the Quran and Hadiths will give you true guidance.
