Since muslims feel that the prophets of Allah(swt) are pure and innocent, for Allah(swt) would only pick the right among mankind who have been tested within their lives to lead people that had gone astray and bring them on the right path.
Say (O Muslims), "We rely on Allah understanding that that is sent down to us which which was sent right down to Ibrahim (Abraham), Isma'il (Ishmael), Ishaq (Isaac), Ya'qub (Jacob), and to Al-Asbat [the offspring from the twelve sons of Ya'qub (Jacob)], and that that has been provided to Musa (Moses) and '??sa (Jesus), understanding that that is given to the prophets from their Lord. We make no distinction between any of them, and Him we have submitted (in Islam)."
Today considering that the last Prophet Muhammad has already been there won't be any more prophets (prophet Isa (Jesus)(AS) will come back no new book but to uphold the Quran ) so only the Quran and Hadiths can give you true guidance.
