Since muslims believe that the prophets of Allah(swt) are pure and innocent, for Allah(swt) would only select the right among mankind have been tested within their lives to guide individuals who had gone astray and convey them for the right path.
Say (O Muslims), "We believe in Allah understanding that that is sent down to us understanding that that is sent right down to Ibrahim (Abraham), Isma'il (Ishmael), Ishaq (Isaac), Ya'qub (Jacob), and to Al-Asbat [the offspring with the twelve sons of Ya'qub (Jacob)], and that which has been presented to Musa (Moses) and '??sa (Jesus), knowning that that is given on the prophets from their Lord. We make no distinction between any of them, and to Him we have submitted (in Islam)."
Today since last Prophet Muhammad is there will be no more prophets (prophet Isa (Jesus)(AS) will return no new book but to uphold the Quran ) so only the Quran and Hadiths may give you true guidance.
