Since muslims believe that the prophets of Allah(swt) are pure and innocent, for Allah(swt) would only select the right among mankind have been tested in their lives to steer people who went astray and convey them towards the right path.
Say (O Muslims), "We trust Allah understanding that which has been sent down to us and that which has been sent into Ibrahim (Abraham), Isma'il (Ishmael), Ishaq (Isaac), Ya'qub (Jacob), and Al-Asbat [the offspring from the twelve sons of Ya'qub (Jacob)], understanding that which was given to Musa (Moses) and '??sa (Jesus), understanding that which has been given towards the prophets from their Lord. We make no distinction between any of them, and Him we've got submitted (in Islam)."
Today considering that the last Prophet Muhammad was already there will be no more prophets (prophet Isa (Jesus)(AS) will return no new book but to uphold the Quran ) so just the Quran and Hadiths may give you true guidance.
